From Ruth Means:
Fellow Riders, I've got a fun offer for you! If there is enough interest shown, I'll put together a local 2 day UnExtreme Cowboy clinic on May 1 and 2. :>)
The trainer will be Bill Cameron. He's an Extreme Cowboy Challenge winner, with soft hands and style, and this'll be a fun way for all of us to get more comfortable on our horses. Don't fear, beginners are one of his specialties; as for example, his last clinic had many '60 year old ladies'.
The clinic is based on a downscaled version of the extreme cowboy events, designed for novices who have never tried and are intimidated by the EXCA races. It will be set up in a lesson format geared to each individual's needs. The skill set taught will prepare you for upcoming ETI Corral 138 UnExtreme Cowboy Challenge Fundraisers should you wish to pursue this. We could even schedule a follow up clinic for our advancing ability! There will be a variety of obstacles. It will be toned down for our group. Bill will be there to help build confidence and coach you. You will learn how to teach your horse discipline and control when approaching and navigating through obstacles. His approach is quite unique: teaching students how to think, how to react and focus so every ride is a great ride. Bill is also a trainer and showman of world class champions.
Bill will do a two day clinic in Santa Rosa Valley. Minimum of 12 people. I still have to get quotes for insurance and possibly pay arena fees, but I figure it won't be more than $200 for the 2 days. (Might come in for a little less.) I've included web links so you can check Bill out further.
